Do you ever want to make your toilet smell nice just before a visitor comes over? Do you enjoy the fresh scent of Lemon, Eucalyptus and Peppermint?
So here is a little recipe you can make at home with ingredients from your cupboard: Bicarb Soda, Citric Acid, Witch Hazel and essential oils.
This is a simple, natural way to give your toilet a fresh scent without the strong toxic chemicals out there.
It is like making a bath bomb for your toilet. Now, it is not going to fizz like crazy, but it will fizz a little and there will be a nice fresh smell when you flush the toilet. The combination of bicarb soda and citric acid help fight stains.
In a large glass bowl, add the bicarb soda and citric acid and mix to combine. The baking soda and citric acid mixture may have clumps. You can use your fingers to break them up, or sift the powders through a strainer.
Add the essential oils of your choice (the toilet bombs are not intended for use in the bathtub. Because they are strongly scented to mask bathroom odors, the excess amounts of essential oil can cause skin irritation).
Mix the essential oils into the bicarb soda and citric acid mixture. It is easier to use your hands (wear gloves if they are manicured).
Check the moisture level of your toilet fresheners. The mixture should be wet enough so when you squeeze the powder in your fist it holds its shape when you open your hand. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF IT.
BE CAREFUL: spraying too much can cause the mixture to fizz prematurely and ruin your fizzies. Your toilet freshener could overflow in your mold.
